General Policies

Confirmation of Entries – As part of our efforts to be an eco-friendly tour the DJGT does NOT confirm registration entries by mail or phone.  Online entries will receive e-mail conformations as entries are processed.  Juniors whose applications are received after the Closing/Refund Date or after an event is full will be put on a waiting list and notified by mail.

Refund Policy -  Refund requests for a tournament will only be honored if received in the office by mail, fax, or email one week (7 days) prior to the event. NO REFUNDS after that date, no exceptions.  Refunded amount will be equal to the amount of the entry fee less a $25 handling fee.  When requesting a refund, please include the member’s name, age, the name and date of the event.  Credit may be applied to future events in lieu of a credit back to the credit card to avoid the handling fee.  There are no refunds for weather shortened tournaments.

Withdrawal Policy – To withdraw from a DJGT tournament prior to the start of an event, please call the DJGT office or email your request.  Please state the players name, division, event name, and reason.  Withdrawing from an event will not affect future tournament play, although, failure to withdraw will be considered a No-Show (please see “No-Show Policy”.  Once play begins, all juniors wishing to withdraw must report in person to the Tournament Director before leaving the golf course.  The Tournament Director may ask the junior’s fellow-competitors questions about the illness or injury.  Based on the information gathered, the DJGT Tournament Director will categorize the junior’s withdrawal in one of three categories listed below and the corresponding action will take place:

Justified Withdrawal
The Junior is obviously ill, injured, or a family tragedy has occurred. The junior’s name in the tournament results will be listed as JWD and reported to all ranking system as such.  No further action taken.

Questionable Withdrawal
The Tournament Director is unable to determine if the junior is withdrawing for a legitimate reason such as illness or injury.  In the case of an extreme weather delay, which may cause a junior to miss a flight and/or incur substantial costs, withdrawing from a tournament for this reason would result in a questionable withdrawal.  The junior’s name in the tournament results will be listed as QWD and reported to all ranking systems as such.  Once a junior receives two questionable withdrawals the junior will not be eligible for year-end honors.

No Cards/No Shows
The junior is disqualified under the USGA Rules of Golf.  This includes, but is not limited to, juniors leaving the golf course or failing to show up for any subsequent rounds of an event without talking to the Tournament Director in person.  Disqualification penalties that occur due to intent or a deliberate decision by the player will be listed as DQ Rule 6-3a (NC or NS) and printed next to the junior’s name in the tournament results. The junior will not be eligible for year-end honors. If a junior has previously been accepted into a future DJGT tournament, they will be withdrawn immediately.

DJGT Alta MesaUse of Carts and Range Finders -  The use of pull carts will be allowed at each event for every age group, subject to host golf course approval.  Please check the tournament information page online to determine if pull carts are permitted for a particular event.  Motorized carts of any kind are prohibited.

Awards – Breaking Ties – In the event of a tie in a stroke play competition, 1st place will be decided by an on-course play-off.  If there are more than two players involved, the play-off will determine all positions involved.  If an on-course play-off is not feasible, the tie will be broken using the USGA recommended method for scorecard play-off.  The winner will be determined on the basis of the best score for the last nine holes.
